Tommy the Tortoise just transferred to Creekwood Elementary and his strange shell has his furry peers agawk. Seizing an opportunity to change his cracked carapace, Tommy competes against Harvey the Hare in the annual Pre-Teen Wilderness Race. With the help of an asthmatic snail named Cindy, Tommy's biggest insecurity becomes his most valuable asset.
